The Former Chairman of Dupont Latin American gave a talk to 16 Asia – Oceania Ambassadors in the Luncheon hosted by Ambassador of Thailand to Brazil

               On 25 August 2014, H.E. Mr. Pitchayaphant Charnbhumidol, Ambassador of Thailand to Brazil hosted the luncheon for 15 Asia-Oceania Ambassadors to Brazil at his residence. In this occasion, Mr. Eduardo Wanick, former chairman of Dupont Latin American and former Chairman of Board of Directors of American Chamber of Commerce in Brazil was invited by the Embassy to be the guest speaker for the said event. Mr. Wanick gave a presentation on “Driving Innovation in Developing Countries”. He highlighted the importance of innovation for each country to push forward its economy to a higher level. The innovation-driven economy was the main reason for developed countries to be successful in raising economic growth. These developed countries spent the large amount of budget for research & development. His study showed the correlations between the GDP growth rate of developed countries and the number of patents registered. He also gave examples of the past success of Dupont which was heavily contributed by R&D.
 
               Mr. Wanick made his final remarks by encouraging all developing countries to develop innovation with private companies because all private companies knew the needs of the people. They could create relationships between companies and educational institution in jointly develop needed researches. He also encouraged countries to work together in developing new innovations.
