On 27 August 2014 at 6.00 PM, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Ambassador, Mrs. Kokan Sangiampongsa, Ambassador's spouse, Mr. Vasin Ruangprateepsaeng, Minister, Mr. Krit Tankanarat, Minister Counsellor, and head of Team Thailand in Canberra, attended a reception to celebrate “47 years of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations or ASEAN (8 August 1967)” and the 40th anniversary of relations ASEAN – Australia at Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Canberra, Australia. ASEAN Canberra Committee and DFAT, co-hosted this event. Mr. Min Thein, Ambassador of Myanmar and president of the ASEAN Committee in Canberra, and Ms. Julie Bishop, Foreign Minister, delivered the opening speeches. Participants included members of the 10 ASEAN countries, diplomatic corps, representatives of government and private sector in Australia.
