On 27 August 2014, Ms. Benjamas Tanvetyanont, Deputy Consul-General, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Hong Kong, together with Mrs. Titiporn Manenate, Director of Thailand Tourism Authority Office (TAT) in Hong Kong, organized a Thai-food luncheon in order to thank the Hong Kong media for their good cooperation at Mango Tree restaurant in the Element Department Store. Mr. Vittayakorn Maneenate, Director of Thai Trade Promotion Office, Lt. Senis Pattanasiri, Consul on Customs, Ms. Nonthakorn Trakulpa, General Manager of Thai Airways International to Hong Kong and Macau, Mr. Nitikorn Komkris, Sales Manager of Bangkok Airways to Hong Kong and China also attended the event to meet and greet the Hong Kong Media which included the Apple Daily Newspaper, the Hong Kong Economic Times, the Oriental Daily, the Sing Tao Daily, as well as the Hong Kong lifestyle magazines such as SCMP Hearst, U Magazine, and Marie Claire.
At this occasion, the Deputy Consul-General thanked the Hong Kong media for their good cooperation in reporting the correct information about Thailand and wished to receive their continued support to Thailand. At present, Thailand has already come back to normalcy as before and invited the Hong Kong media to visit and experience Thailand by themselves. Also, the Deputy Consul-General has invited all the media to visit the Thai Festival 2014 in Hong Kong which will be held during 20-21 September 2014 at the Olympian City. In the festival, there will be Thai boxing performance, Thai classical dance and cultural show, tasting and selling on Thai food and fruits, the presentation on various Thai products such as Naraya bags, Thai jewelry, Bumrungraj hospital introduction, Thai spa and massage demonstration, attractive tour packages to Thailand, and the lucky draw to win the airplane tickets of Thai Airways International as well.
