Thai Ambassador to Brazil promoted Thai Tourism at Illhabela

              On 8 August 2014,  H.E. Mr. Pitchayaphant Charnbhumidol, Thai Ambassador to Brazil, met with Mr. Toninho Colucci, Mayor of the Island of Illhabela to explore  ways and means to promote tourism management between Illhabela and Thailand.  Mr. Colucci informed Ambassador about the fame of Illhabela which is regarded as the most beautiful Island of Sao Paulo State and received more than 100,000 Brazilian visitors per year. In addition, there were many cruises taking sea travelers to visit the island.  The Illhabela provided not only beautiful beaches but also ecological and natural places to visit as well as  many outdoor activities, such as Rolex Sailing Week. The Mayor of Illhabela expressed positively to Ambassador’s initiative to exchange best practices on tourism management  between Illhabela and Thailand
 
             In December 2013, the  Royal Thai Embassy in Brasilia, in cooperation with Royal Thai Honorary Consulate General in Sao Paulo, Thai Tourism Offices in Sao Paulo, the Municipality of Illhabela, and the DPNY hotel held the Thailand Beach Festival in Illhabela which was attended by a large number of Brazilian tourists.
