On the 7th of August 2014, at 10:30 AM, Mr. Vasin Ruengprateepsaeng, Minister of Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra, appointed by H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Ambassador of Thailand, to attend the party held by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia (DFAT) for the International Participation in Graduate Training Program (IPGT)’s attendees during 6th August to 1st October 2014. Mr. Chris Moraitis, Deputy Permanent Secretary of DFAT, chaired the party while ambassadors and representatives from participant countries attended the event.
In 2014, there are 22 emissaries of 21 countries in Asia, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Middle East who have never been posted, invited to participate the IPGT, including Miss Natcha Buddhinan, Third Secretary, Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.
IPGT aimed to improve necessary skills and knowledge for new diplomats such as the International relations, International law, Human Rights, Writing, Public speaking, Roles and Scopes of DFAT, and Australian government’s managements. IPGT also organised states visit trip in small groups for Australian and foreign diplomats, in order to have a better understanding about Australia, which would facilitate network creation and create close bonds among these diplomats.
