From 25 to 26 July 2014, the Royal Thai Consulate General organized the Thai Food Festival with Carlton Hotel to promote Thai food and Thai ingredients from Thailand to respond to the promotion of the Thai cooking to the world. The Royal Thai Consulate General supports the 5 Thai restaurants in Antananarivo to work together.

           The reception was successfully received by honorable and high ranking personalities in Madagascar such as the Minister of Strategic Resources, the Minister of National Education, the Minister of Finances and Budget, the Minister of Agriculture, the President of National Assembly, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, the International Organizations, the deans of well-known universities, the Deputy Mayor, the Director General of Air Madagascar, etc.

            On the occasion, the Consul-General took an opportunity to make a speech in French to explain about the importance of the delicacy of the Thai food to the guests and also explained the current political situation in Thailand, especially the 3-step-roadmap of the actual government. The Consul-General made a conclusion that the Thai society has a specific character that the international community might not fully understand. However Thailand is still the same country where foreign tourists can as usual enjoy eating, shopping and sight seeing.
