On June 5, 2014, H.E. Dr. Itti Ditbanjong, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Russian Federation and Ms. Sansanee Sahussarungsi, Deputy Director - General of the Department of International Economic Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand together with the Chairman of Russia's Muftis Council jointly inaugurated the Thai Pavilion, which was designed under the theme of “Green Halal”, at the Moscow Halal Expo (MHE) 2014. The event took place at All - Russian Exhibition Center from June 5 - 8, 2014 

 

On this occasion, by giving importance to Thailand as an honour participant, the MHE 2014's organiser had extended an invitation for the Thai Ambassador to jointly deliver an opening speech among other distinguished guests.

 

Thailand enjoyed her success, even with her first time participation in this MHE event. Thanks to the active cooperation of the Thai public and private sectors, as well as the Team Thailand in Moscow, the wide range of Thai halal products and services, including the halal tourism, was highlighted while the halal cooking demonstration of authentic Thai cuisine by Chef Ken, Master Chef Thailand, which was introduced by the National Food Institute of Thailand, received high public attention.

 

The Halal Science Center Chulalongkorn University (HSC) also presented, at the MHE 2014, Thailand's competitiveness of halal industry in applying the scientific technology with halal standardization. Equally, the Thai Ambassador witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Halal Standard Institute of Thailand and the HSC with the International Center for Halal Standardization and Certification of Russia. The HSC's Director was also invited to be part of the eminent panelists at an MHE's seminar on halal standardization.
