On 13 June 2014, at 16.00 hrs., a caravan of 30 Ferrari cars from Ferrari Owners’ Club Singapore lined up at the Royal Thai Embassy Singapore for an official flag-off ceremony before commencing their Singapore-Malaysia-Thailand (Krabi) overland route during 19-24 June 2014. The flag-off was officiated by Mr. Marut Jitpatima, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, and was joined by Madam Jiraporn Jitpatima, Ms. Ekajit Kraivichien, Deputy Chief of Mission, Ms. Kasama Suebwises, Minister Counselor, and other Embassy staff. Ms. Kanokkittika Kritwutikorn, Director, represented the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT)’s Singapore office to join the flag-off.
Ambassador Marut welcome and congratulated the Club for organizing this overland road trip to Thailand in conjunction with the TAT. The trip was expected to boost confidence in Thailand among upper-echelon tourists and contributed to the good image of Thailand during this time.
In return, Mr. Timoty Tan, President of Ferrari Owners’ Club Singapore, expressed appreciation to Ambassador Marut for the warm welcome and for allowing the use of the Embassy’s compound as flag-off location.
