Subject: Suspension of Broadcasting by Unregistered Community Radio Stations

and Radio Stations with probationary licenses

            In order to ensure that news and information are disseminated accurately and without distortion which might lead to misunderstanding and thus negatively affect the maintenance of peace and order, the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has issued Announcement No. 15/2557 dated 22 May 2014 and No. 23/2557 dated 23 May 2014 which allow the suspension of broadcasting by unregistered community radio stations and radio stations with probationary licenses;

            For better clarity and understanding, the NCPO reiterates that the unregistered community radio stations and radio stations with probationary licenses must strictly adhere to those two announcements by the NCPO.

            This order shall take effect immediately.
