Announcement of the National Peace and Order Maintaining Council

No. 27/2557

Subject: Broadcasts by Terrestrial Digital Television/Radio Stations and Television Stations under Permit, Contract or Concession from Governmental Agencies, Public Enterprises and Other State Bodies

                        In order to ensure that the dissemination of news and information to the public returns to normalcy, and that they are circulated accurately and without distortion so that there is no misunderstanding that could affect the maintenance of peace and order, the National Peace and Order Maintaining Council therefore allows the following:

                        1. The following television broadcasting service providers can resume their normal broadcasts through terrestrial channels as well as satellite and cable outlets:

                                    (1) Analog terrestrial television service providers pursuant to the Announcement of the National Peace and Order Maintaining Council No. 23/2557 dated 23 May 2014,

                                    (2) All licensed terrestrial digital television service providers, except those specified in the Announcement of the National Peace and Order Maintaining Council No. 15/2557 dated 22 May 2014;

                        2. All television broadcasting service providers which provide broadcasts on a subscription-only basis can continue their normal broadcasts only through subscription satellite and cable channels;

                        3. All broadcasts must refrain from showing any content prohibited by the Announcement of the National Peace and Order Maintaining Council No. 14/2557 dated 22 May 2014 and Announcement No. 18/2557 dated 22 May 2014.

                        4. When applicable, the dissemination of information, announcements and orders from the National Peace and Order Maintaining Council must be relayed immediately from the Royal Thai Army’s broadcasting station;

                        5. Representatives of all service providers for terrestrial analog and digital television stations, including the service providers of the national terrestrial frequencies, national satellite network and national cable network, must report at the 2nd Floor Meeting Room, Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission, Phaholyodhin Road, Samsen-nai sub-district, Phyathai district, Bangkok, on 24 May 2014 at 16.00 hrs.

 

                        This order shall take effect immediately.
