On 22 May 2014, an agreement of international cooperation between Kasetsart University of Thailand and Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) of Brazil was signed by Prof. Paulo Bayard Dias Goncalves, Vice-Rector of UFSM, and Prof. Poonpipop Kasemsab, Vice President of Foreign Affair, Kasetsart University, at the UFSM campus in Santa Maria, State of Rio Grande do Sul and presided over by HE Mr. Pitchayaphant Charnbhumidol, Ambassador of Thailand to Brazil. 

 

The main objectives of this International Cooperation agreement between the two universities are to develop, exchange, and implement scientific-technical and cultural cooperation programs, transfer of knowledge and experience as well as any other activities of mutual interest related to teaching, research, university administration and training of human resources. Activities include exchanges of staff (teachers, students, technical and administrative personnel), joint research and use of facilities as well as future educational cooperation.

 

The delegation from Kasetsart University, i.e., Associate Professor Dr. Poonpipope Kasemsap, Vice President for International Affairs; Dr. Sudket Nakhasathien, Dean of Faculty of Agriculture; Professor Apinan Suprasert, Dean of Veterinary Medicine; and H.E. Mr. Pitchayaphant Charnbhumidol, Ambassador of Thailand to Brazil also visited Center of Natural Sciences, Center of Rural Sciences, the Veterinary Hospital and the Technology Center of UFSM.
