On 20 March 2014, H.E. Mr. Krit Kraichitti, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, as Patron of the Malaysia-Thai Business Council (MTBC), led the Thai business delegation headed by Mr. Arin Jira, Vice Chairman of Thai-Malaysian Business Council, who travelled to Malaysia on the project of Malaysian Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) to an event at Malaysia Investment Development Authority (MIDA). The event consists of a series of briefings in the theme of opportunities in Malaysia by various agencies under MITI, a networking lunch with Malaysian businesses, and a dialogue with Dato' Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister of International Trade and Industry.

During this occasion, Dato' Sri Mustapa expressed his pleasure at the success of this visit as a way to promote business ties between the two countries, while admitting the Thai investment in Malaysia is currently still a weak link. Meanwhile, H.E. the Ambassador pointed out Halal Industry as one of the most important sectors for cooperation as it covered all aspects of lives and can be linked to tourism, while not being exclusive to Muslims. At the same time, the Thai and Malaysian businesspersons expressed the wish for the border facilities to be expanded so the cross-border relations can be carried out with greater ease.
