On 16 April 2014, H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup, Ambassador of Thailand to Vietnam, made an official trip to Thừa Thiên–Huế Province to attend the opening ceremony of the Hue Festival 2014. On this occasion, Ambassador paid courtesy calls on the following persons. 
 
1. H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup, Ambassador of Thailand to Vietnam, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Nguyen Van Cao, Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Province People’s Committee, to introduce himself as the newly appointed Ambassador of Thailand to Vietnam. On this occasion, Mr. Nguyen Van Cao Ngoc congratulated H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup on his appointment. He thanked Ambassador for his participation at the Hue Festival 2014 and showed appreciation to the flourishing bilateral relations between Thailand and Vietnam, especially the frequent exchange of visits of the peoples of both countries which results in the highest proportion of Thai tourists in the Province amongst tourists from around the world.  Moreover, he showed his appreciation towards the investment of Thai companies in the Province and invited Thai investors to explore potential business opportunities in the Chan May-Lang Co Economic Zone which has been developed to be a future economic zone of the Province. H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup, in turn, said that he was pleased with the strong relationship between both countries which leads to a constant increase in visits of delegation and peoples of both countries. The close relations between the peoples of both countries would lay a significant groundwork for  further development both in political and economic relations and will play an important role to fulfill the strategic partnership of Thailand and Vietnam. 
 
2. H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup paid a courtesy call on Mr. Le Van Anh, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organization of Thua Thien Hue Province, and Miss Tran Thai Mai, Chairperson of Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association in Thua Thien Hue Province, and the Executive Committee of the Association to introduce himself as the newly appointed Ambassador of Thailand to Vietnam. On this occasion,  Mr. Le Van Anh congratulated H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup on his appointment and showed his gratitude to the Government of Thailand for ensuring the well-being of Vietnamese people living in Thailand. He stated that he wished to see a continued support of the Embassy to the future activities of the Association and the expansion of cooperation between Thailand and Vietnam in education, especially the exchange of vocational training. At the same time, Ms. Tran Thai Mai said that she wished to see an exchange of tourism experts and would like to learn from Thailand more about the tourism management as Thailand is one of the most experienced countries in the industry and the number of Thai tourists is amongst the highest of travelers to the Province. H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup, in turn, reaffirmed that, as both countries had upgraded the relations to the level of strategic partnership, he would do his utmost to promote the relations between both countries He stressed the important role of the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association in promoting the relations between the peoples of Thailand and Vietnam which would support both countries to capitalize on the Strategic Partnership. He reaffirmed that the Thai Government attached importance to the well – being of Vietnamese community in Thailand. Moreover, Ambassador Panyarak used this opportunity to thank the Association for its support in welcoming delegation from Thailand including a number of visits of H.E. Mr. Prachuab Chaiyasan, Chairman of Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association, as well as for arranging a number of activities including the reception to celebrate His Majesty the King’s Birthday Anniversary, the Offering Ceremony of the Royal Kathina Robe and the friendship caravan. 
Moreover, H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup had a meeting with the Thai dance troupe from the Kalasin College of Dramatic Arts which showcased Thai performing arts at the Hue Festival 2014. Ambassador Panyarak showed his appreciation and thanked the group for carrying out the duty as Cultural Ambassador in bridging the cultural relations with Vietnam and other countries.
