At 13:00 hrs., the Center for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) informed the press on the outcome of the meeting of the CAPO earlier in the day, gist as follows:

1. The CAPO wished to stress on the economic impacts caused by an extended period of the PDRC's protest.  The political uncertainty has resulted in slow down of overall economy, while consumer index and business confidence index and numbers of tourists have been decreasing. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth of 2014, estimated by several government and financial agencies, is under 3%--lower than an expected figure of 5.5%. These figures indicated great loss to the economy as well as a decrease in Thailand's competitive advantagein joining the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). The CAPO urged the PDRC, the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) and other groups to realize that the protest may have produced a long term damage to the Thai economy and wished all parties to find resolution by peaceful means.

2. The CAPO had managed to reopen 67 government offices. The CAPO wished to urge all the parties concerned to stop blockading government offices, as the blockage has resulted in difficulties for public servants to deliver services to the public.  The CAPO reiterated its policy to proceed with legal actions, both civil and criminal cases against those PDRC's core leaders and other groups who led the blockage. So far, 32 cases have been filed against the PDRC and 3 cases against the People's Radio for Democracy Group (PRDG) who blockages the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) office.

3. Following the explosion incidence on the night of 29 March at soi Rat Uthit 25 and 27 in Min Buri district, causing two deads, police officers have found certain amounts of explosive devices at the site. The CAPO has been following the case closely, and urged investigation officers to proceed with further investigations.
