Ambassador Vijavat Isarabhakdi met Congresswoman Frederica Wilson and Congressman Joe Garcia of Florida at their respective offices on 28 February 2014 to introduce himself as well as exchange views with them, ahead of his visit to their districts on 2-4 March 2014.  

 

On 2 March 2014, Ambassador Vijavat is scheduled to visit the State of Florida to attend the 24th Asian Cultural Festival and meet with members of the Thai Community at Wat Buddharangsi, which is located in Homestead, Miami Dade County.  He will also meet the Mayor of Miami Dade County, and Mayor of City of Miami, and talk to the business community at the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce on 3 March.  The upcoming visit to Florida will be the first of a series of the roadshow trips by the Ambassador, after his arrival in mid-October 2013, which focus specifically on promoting bilateral relations as well as trade and investment ties with different states in the U.S.

During the meetings with the Members of Congress, Ambassador Vijavat exchanged views and discussed with them various aspects of the Thai-U.S. relationship, particularly in term of trade relations, as well as his intention to explore further ties with Florida.  The Ambassador also invited both Congresswoman and Congressman to visit Thailand.
