During 13-14 February 2014 the Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm hosted a meeting of Thai Ambassadors to Nordic and Baltic regions at Kiruna, a northern city of Sweden.  The meeting, chaired by H.E. Mr. Somchai Charanasomboon, Ambassador of Thailand to Sweden, was attended by Ambassadors of Thailand to Norway, Denmark and Finland as well as the Director-General of the European Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and representatives of the Thai authority offices in the regions.

     The meeting reviewed the result of the last meeting in Norway and considered the implementation of the Thai strategy to Nordic and Baltic regions as proposed by the Director General of the European Affairs Department, potential lines of cooperation, topics related to the official visit to Sweden of H.E. the Prime Minister of Thailand in March 2013 i.e. promotion of tourism and medical tourism, promotion of Fair Trade and organic products, seeking cooperation in renewable energy, science, technology and research, common plan of action as well as action plans of each office.

     The participants also visited LKAB iron ore mine and Estrange Space Center.
