On 13 February 2014, H.E. Mr. Chirachai Punkrasin, Thai Ambassador Mexico, presented his Letter of Credence to H.E. Mr. Salvador Valdés Mesa, Vice-President of Honduras at the Cuban capital Havana, becoming the Thai Ambassador to Cuba (with residence in Mexico).

H.E. Ambassador was accompanied by Mr. Jorge Vera Gonzalez, Thai Honorary Consul to Cuba, and Mr. Pongsin Thepruangchai, Third Secretary. On the Cuban side was present the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Bruno Rodriquez Parrilla.

During his visit to Cuba, the Thai Ambassador also met with representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Trade, and the Chamber of Commerce to discuss on ways to further strengthen relations as well as promote trade and investment between Thailand and Cuba. All sides agreed on the need to encourage exchanges of high-level visits and business delegations between the two countries.
