Thai Parliament attends 22nd Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

     On 10-17 January 2014, Thai Parliament Delegation headed by Senator Associate Professor M.R. Wutilert Devakul, attended the 22nd Asia-Parliamentary Forum in Puerto Vallarta, a popular tourist destination on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. The gathering comprised of 151 delegates from 25 countries  and covered  a broad range of topics in areas of political-security, economy, trade and regional cooperation.

     All countries recognize the rising importance of the Asia-Pacific region as the world’s growth engine and the urgent need to further strengthen relations between countries on the two sides of the Pacific.

     At the end of the three-day discussion, the Meeting issued a Joint Statement and 21 resolutions. The Thai delegation actively participated in the drafting of 5 resolutions relating to food security, energy security, climate change, poverty eradication, woman empowerment and educational cooperation.
