On 21 November 2013, Mr. Andrey Grinkevich, Director of Department of Asia, Australia, and Oceania, together with an official, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, had a courtesy call on, Dr. Itti Ditbanjong, the Ambassador of Thailand.
Measures to intensify cooperation between both countries were discussed, namely, the plan for the 2nd political consultation, the possibility to establish of the Free Trade Area between Thailand-Russia which involves Eurasian Economic Commission in which Belarus is a member, as well as mutual political will to make a progress on the bilateral agreements. In this occasion, the Ambassador sought the support on Thailand's candidature for a non-permanent seat on the UNSC for the term 2017 - 2018 and the Human Right Council for the term 2015 - 2017.
Both Thailand and Belarus are enthusiastically active in deepening their bilateral relationship. A visit to Thailand by Prime Minister of Belarus in 2014 has been in a plan. In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affair is in the process of appointment of Honorary Consul in Minsk, which will play a role in enhancing the cooperation with Belarus in all aspects.
