On 6 Dec 2013, Acting Consul-General Kesanee Palanuwongse, visited the Thai athletes who participated in the 2013 Special Olympics Asia Pacific Regional Games in Newcastle. The Royal Thai Consulate-Genera, together with the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra, supported Thai breakfasts to the group throughout the tournament. The team have capitalized 23 gold medals from 5 sports the Thai Team were participating, namely Table Tennis, Football, Swimming, Athletics, and Bocce.
