Thai Ambassador to Argentina joins the award ceremony for ASEAN Essay Contest

On 2 December 2013, Mr. Medha Promthep, Thai Ambassador to Argentina, together with Dr. Jorge E. Malena, Director of the School of Oriental Study, University of Salvador, and other Ambassadors and representatives from ASEAN countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, and Vietnam attended the Award Ceremony for ASEAN Essay Contest to Argentine students at University of Salvador.

The contest was joint-initiated by ASEAN embassies in Argentina with an aim to promote the knowledge and study of ASEAN in Argentina targeting on students, researchers, and academic scholars. This time, the contest was categorized into two levels—undergraduate students and postgraduate scholars. For undergraduate level, the first winner is Miss Vanina Fattori from University of Salvador receiving the prize of 175 U.S. dollars, and the second winner is Mr. Abel Enrique Salim from Catholic University of Cordoba receiving the prize of 175 U.S. dollars. For postgraduate level, the first winner is Miss Veronica Fernando Mussio from University of Rosario receiving the prize of 250 U.S. dollars, and the second winner is Miss Nadia Radulovich from University of Salvador receiving the prize of 200 U.S. dollars.

This contest is one of many activities that the Thai Embassy has been cooperating with local universities and academic institutes in order to promote the knowledge about ASEAN in Argentina.
