His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, is scheduled to pay an Official Visit to the Kingdom of Thailand on 17 – 19 November 2013
This is the first Official Visit to Thailand of the Prime Minister of Pakistan in eight years and it follows the Official Visit to Pakistan of Her Excellency Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, earlier this year in August. This exchange of visits reaffirms the existing close and cordial relations between Pakistan and Thailand.
During this visit, the Prime Minister of Pakistan will hold discussions with the Prime Minister of Thailand to find ways to enhance further bilateral ties and cooperation in all areas of mutual interest including in the areas of trade and investment, defence and security, and technical cooperation. The two Prime Ministers are also expected to discuss how to strengthen links between Southeast Asia and South Asia as well as regional and global issues of common concern.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan has also kindly accepted the invitation of the Prime Minister of Thailand to attend the Connect Asia - Pacific Summit 2013 hosted by Thailand and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). This Summit aims to intensify regional cooperation on the use of information and communication technology to promote further growth and improve the welfare of the peoples in the region.
