On 10 November 2013, H.E. Mr. Warawudh Chuwiruch, Thai Ambassador to the UAE, along with Mr. Thosaporn Moonlasartsathorn, Thai Consul-General in Dubai, and members of Team Thai offices in the UAE attended the opening ceremony of Thailand Pavilion at Global Village in Dubai.
Ambassador Warawudh joined Mr. Ahmad Hussein bin Eissa, Director of Operations of Global Village, in the ribbon-cutting ceremony before delivering his opening speech. He invited everyone to visit the Thailand Pavilion which this year features over 120 shops of products and services ranging from Thai food, garment, spa massage, jewelry, agarwood and arts & crafts. In addition, Thai traditional dances are performed every evening to entertain visitors. Afterwards, the Ambassador strolled through the shops and greeted Thai exhibitors.
Global Village is a combination of marketplace, cultural shows and entertainment from various countries around the world. It is an annual winter fair which began in 1997. This year’s event will end on 1 March 2014 and is expected to attract more than 4 million visitors.
