Between 20th October - 3rd November, 2013, Mr. Chakri Srichawana, Consul-General, presided over the religious activities marking the End of the Buddhist Lent, together with the Thai community at 4 Thai temples in Hong Kong, namely the End of the Buddhist Lent Ceremony at Wat Mekatamwanaram (Tai Wo Temple) on 20th October, 2013; the Ceremony of the Offering of Robe granted by His Holiness Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara, the Supreme Patriarch of the Kingdom of Thailand at Hong Kong Dhammaram Temple on 27th October, 2013; as well as the Ceremony of the Offering of the Royal Robe granted by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej at Wat Buddhadhamaram and the Robe Offering Ceremony at Wat Phra Dhammakaya Hong Kong on 3rd November, 2013. Not only have these religious activities enhanced close ties between the Royal Thai Consulate-General and the Thai community, but they have also allowed Buddhism to be promoted as a tool for moral support for Thais in Hong Kong.
