Glowing Ties between Thailand and Visegrad Four

On 10 October 2013, the Royal Thai Embassy in Prague organized a meeting between Ambassadors and Team Thailand in Visegrad Four countries. The meeting was graciously presided by Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha, Ambassador to the Republic of Austria and Ambassador to the Republic of Slovak and attended by H.E. Mr. Vitavas Srivihok, Ambassador to the Czech Republic, H.E. Mr. Bansarn Bunnag, Ambassador to the Republic of Poland, H.E. Mr. Sompong Sanguanbun, Ambassador to Hungary, Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Director-General of Department of European Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Team Thailand members from Embassies, Offices of Commercial Affairs in Vienna, Prague, Warsaw and Budapest, Office of Industrial Affairs in Vienna, Office of Board of Investment of Thailand, Office of Tourism Authorities of Thailand and Office of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited in Frankfurt and representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting provided a great opportunity for Ambassadors and Team Thailand members to exchange information and view on the proactive strategy of Thailand towards Visegrad Four, an alliance of four countries in Central Europe, namely Republic of Slovak, Republic of Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic, as a group, since all four countries undoubtedly play an active and crucial economic role in Central and Eastern Europe.
Embassies and Team Thailand members also agreed to cooperate on joint projects to expand connectivity and economic ties between ASEAN and V4 countries according to the vision ‘From Hub of ASEAN to Gateway of Eastern Europe'; the joint projects shall effectively compliment to the cordial ties and mutual interest between Thailand and V4 countries as a whole.
