After Mr. Biravij Suwanpradhes, the Consul General of Thailand to Sydney, together with the representatives of the Thai Community, met with Ms. Clover Moore, Lord Mayor of Sydney on 21 June 2013 to propose the establishment of the Thai Town sign, City of  Sydney has installed 3 signs since 6 September at the corner of George/ Campbell, Campbell / Pitt, and Goulburn / Pitt streets.

The installation of the said signs reflected the awareness from City of Sydney on the growing number and significance of Thai businesses and Thai Community in Sydney and New South Wales.
