On 2 September 2013, ‘Top 20 Finalists’ Miss Universe New Zealand 2013, led by Mr. Nigel Godfrey, Executive Producer of Miss Universe New Zealand 2013, paid a visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

‘Top 20 Finalists’ Miss Universe New Zealand 2013 and delegation visited Thailand during 27 August - 3 September 2013 under a project jointly initiated by the Royal Thai Embassy in Wellington and the Tourism Authority of Thailand in Sydney.  This activity aims to strengthen people-to-people contacts between Thailand and New Zealand and also reflects the two leaders’ commitment during the Prime Minister of Thailand’s visit to New Zealand in March 2013 in enhancing greater awareness between the peoples of the two sides.  Furthermore, the visit will help not only to reinforce Thailand and New Zealand cordial relation but also to promote Thai tourism, Thai products, and Thai spa and massage in New Zealand. Last year, Thailand welcomed more than 100,000 tourists from New Zealand, while around 20,000 Thai tourists visited New Zealand.

Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Deputy Permanent Secretary, hosted a luncheon to welcome ‘Top 20 Finalists’ Miss Universe New Zealand 2013 and delegation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 2 September 2013. The Director-General of the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, Mr. Sek Wannamethee, invited Miss Universe Thailand’s delegation, including Miss Chalita Yaemwannang (Miss Universe Thailand 2013), Miss Chonticha Tiengtham (1st runner-up) and Miss Sunidporn Srisuwan (2nd runner-up), to join the Miss Universe New Zealand Finalists.
