The Department of ASEAN Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will organise a training programme for university lecturers from Rajabhat University campuses nationwide on “Preparing for the ASEAN Community.” The programme will be held 7 – 8 July 2013 at Ravindra Beach Resort & Spa, Pattaya, Chonburi.

The programme aims to advance knowledge and expertise on ASEAN studies for the lecturers and to promote deeper understanding of the ASEAN Community. Moreover, university lecturers can apply information from the training programme to develop their curriculum, help disseminate information, and raise awareness of ASEAN among the Thai public.

The programme will cover such topics as perspectives, strategies, and methods for educational institutions to enhance Thailand’s preparedness for the ASEAN Community. The focus will be on development of skills, capacity and viewpoints for Thai youth, to effectively prepare them for the advent of the ASEAN Community in 2015.

The programme is part of the “Train the Trainers” programme that Department of ASEAN Affairs organises annually. Rectors, administrators, and lecturers from the entire Rajabhat University system have actively participated in the programme.
