     On 10 March 2013, Ambassador Chirachai Punkrasin attended the inauguration of the 17th International Festival of Tehuacán. Ambassador Chirachai, together with Ambassador of Palestine, Ambassador of Georgia and a representative of the Embassy of Indonesia, were warmly received by the Mayor of Tehuacán, Mr. Eliseo Lezama Prieto, at the City hall. During the meeting with the city  council, Ambassador Chirachai stressed that Mexico and Thailand are two nations joined by the Pacific and today Latin America and Asia-Pacific are among the fastest growing regions in the world, there is thus much potential for cooperation between the two countries for mutual benefits and common prosperity.
     The Royal Thai Embassy participated in the Festival with a Thai fruit carving demonstration and a photo exhibition of Thailand. The Ambassador's chef, Ms. Benchawan Saengthing, performed fruit carving during a luncheon which was attended by over 200 VIP guests.
Tehuacán is the second largest city in the state of Puebla with a population of 275,000. The two-week annual cultural festival features concerts, dances, gastronomy and exhibitions from various states of mexico as well as foreign countries.
