The Royal Thai Embassy and Degree Lighting to donate 4 chandeliers to Shwe Dagon Pagoda in paying homage to Lord Buddha on 16 February 2013. Ambassador Pisanu Suvanajata, Ms. Siri Lertvorapreecha, Managing Director, Degree (Thailand) and Mr. Puripat Mahaguna, Managing Director, Degree (Myanmar) invited Team Thailand in Yangon, Thai and Myanmar celebrities, and VIP guests to decorate one of the chandeliers with precious stones at the Royal Thai Embassy. The chandeliers were offered to the Board of Trustees of the Shwe Dagon Pagoda on 17 February 2013. They were currently installed to lighten up the praying pavilions located on four directions of the Great Pagoda.

     This initiative was in accordance with the Royal Thai Embassy’s policy to encourage all the Thai business in Myanmar to attach priority to social responsibility. The event was also primarily aim to promote people-to-people relations, and to sustain Buddhism which is a common pillar supporting both societies.
