On February 6, 2013 the Consulate-General in Chennai organized a special lecture on "His Majesty and the development of Thailand" at the ITC Grand Chola Hotel, Chennai. H.E. Mr.Tej Bunnag, Assistant Secretary of the Red Cross Society of Thailand and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, has graciously delivered this special lecture.

Mr. Chanchai Charanvatnakit, Consul-General, welcomed 65 Thai people to the event. A DVD of 17 minutes on His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej has been projected before the lecture.

H.E. Tej Bunnag has informed the attendees that the first Royal initiated project of His Majesty the King  started in B.E. 2495 at Ban Huay Mongkol , Hua Hin District , Phrachuab Kirikhan Province. Since then until now more than 3,000- 4,000 Royal initiated projects have been established.
