On 30 January 2013 H.E. Mr. Kulkumut Singhara Na Ayudhaya, Ambassador of Thailand to Spain attended the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR) which is one of the three most important fair on tourism in Europe, where Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) annually organizes its booth to promote Thai arts, culture and tourism.
This year the Ambassador had the opportunity to greet Their Royal Highnesses Prince Felipe, Prince of Asturias the Crown Prince of Spain and Princess Letizia, Princess of Asturias, Princess consort, who were presiding over the Opening Ceremony of FITUR, at Thailand’s Booth. The Ambassador briefly explained the background of Thai cuisine, Thai fruits and vegetables carving, the art of Thai umbrella painting and Thai massage which were all demonstrated at the booth. The Ambassador also presented Their Royal Highnesses with a set of Thai silk umbrellas which Their Royal Highnesses graciously accepted and expressed gratitude.
The Ambassador also met with the high level representatives of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Mr. Wolfgang Kiessling, Honorary Consul General of Thailand for the Canary Islands, who is also the owner of the Botanico Hotel, Siam Park and Loro Parque attractions on Tenerife island, to discuss way to mutually support Thai business trade investment and tourism.
Afterwards, the Ambassador met with Mr. Xu Jing, Director for Asia-Pacific Region of the United Nations World Travel Organization (UNWTO) and exchanged views regarding to strengthen the working relations between UNWTO and Thai government agencies. Then the Ambassador attended the reception hosted by the UNWTO.
