On 8 August 2007, Mr. Ibrahim Gambari, United Nations Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Myanmar, paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Nitya Pibulsonggram during his round of consultations with key Asian countries on the issue of Myanmar. As a close neighbour and an ASEAN member, Mr. Gambari would like to seek Thailands opinion on how best the UN and Thailand could work together on Myanmars issues.
