On 22 February 2006, Dr. Kantathi Suphamongkhon, Foreign Minister, met with relatives of the two Thais being held captive by the Nigerian anti-government group and gave reassurance that the two Thais were safe and that the Nigerian government would not resort to military means to solve the situation.
