ASEAN Day Activities in New Zealand

On 4 August 2020, ASEAN Committee in Wellington (ACW), for the first time ever, organised the flag raising ceremony in New Zealand in celebration of 53rd Anniversary of ASEAN. The activities include the Flag Raising Ceremonies at the New Zealand Parliament and at the Royal Thai Embassy.

Noting that 2020 marks the 45th anniversary of ASEAN-New Zealand Dialogue Relations and the 5th Anniversary of ASEAN-New Zealand Strategic Partnership, H.E. Mr. Danai Menabodhi, Ambassador of Thailand to New Zealand, as Chair of ACW, expressed an appreciation to New Zealand for the enduring partnership and cooperation and looks forward to the ASEAN-NZ Plan of Action 2021-2025 to working closely with NZ to take the relations to a greater height. ASEAN is also ready to look beyond its region, to play a larger role in addressing global concerns and contribute to world peace and security.
