On 3 August 2022, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Thailand, received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Phan Chi Thanh, Ambassador of Viet Nam to Thailand, upon the latter’s official assumption of duty.

During their discussions, both sides expressed their satisfaction with the continued progress of Thailand - Viet Nam relations and agreed to continue working closely to advance the Strengthened Strategic Partnership between the two countries in all dimensions to support both countries’ efforts to recover from the impacts of COVID-19 pandemic.

They also emphasised the importance of maintaining regular exchanges of high-level visits as well as promoting and facilitating trade and investment between the two countries. The Vice Minister sought continued support from the Vietnamese Government for Thai investors in Viet Nam and encouraged even closer people-to-people cooperation through full utilisation of network of 14 sister city partnerships between the two countries.

In addition, they agreed to maintain regular and close dialogues to coordinate their approaches on regional and international issues of mutual interest as well as in sub-regional and regional frameworks in which both countries are members.
