H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, is scheduled to visit the United States, on behalf of H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, to attend the Critical Minerals Ministerial, during 3 - 4 February 2026 in Washington, D.C., at the invitation of the U.S. Secretary of State.

The main program comprises attending a Government - Industry Dialogue on securing critical minerals supply at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), to discuss the role of public - private partnerships in strengthening the critical minerals supply chain in future industries, and a networking session between government officials and industry leaders on 3 February 2026, followed by the Critical Minerals Ministerial, to be chaired by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on 4 February 2026, with the participation of ministers and high - level representatives from over 55 partner countries from Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Africa.

The Ministerial meeting aims to promote diversification of global critical minerals supply chains, including attracting more investment in the related supply chains. The meeting will provide a useful platform to exchange views on developing supply chain mechanisms and initiatives related to critical minerals for mutual benefits. Thailand’s participation at the meeting will help promote engagement and opportunities for cooperation on critical minerals, which are vital to the development of advanced technologies and future industries in order to strengthen Thailand’s competitiveness. In addition, it will be a valuable opportunity to enhance networks with the public and private sectors from the U.S. and other partner countries for potential future cooperation.

During the visit, the Vice Minister is also scheduled to meet with U.S. counterparts, including executives of the U.S. Department of State and members of the U.S. House of Representatives, to support advancing Thai - U.S. relations and multi-faceted bilateral cooperation.
