On 10 June 2022, Mr. Derek Chollet, Counselor of the U.S. Department of State, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, during his visit to Thailand between 8 – 10 June 2022.

Both sides are pleased with the increasing dynamism in the close bilateral relations and discussed ways to strengthen Thailand – U.S. strategic partnership, both at the bilateral and regional levels. They also exchanged views on current global and regional developments. Both sides also exchanged views on the situation in Myanmar, Thailand’s role as well as ASEAN’s efforts. They explored possibilities and ways to enhance cooperation between Thailand and the U.S. in providing humanitarian assistance to the Myanmar people along the Thailand-Myanmar border, as prioritized by both governments.
