On 3 April 2025, the Government and the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) in Thailand jointly held the Tripartite Steering Committee Meeting at the UN Conference Centre, Bangkok, to review progress on the 2022-2026 UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) and discuss preparations for the 2027-2031 UNSDCF.
The meeting was co-chaired by Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Mr. Wanchat Suwankitti, Deputy Secretary General of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC) and Ms. Michaela Friberg-Storey, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Thailand. The Thai side welcomed the UNCT’s active role in promoting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Thailand through the UNSDCF and reiterated the importance of aligning the UNSDCF with Thailand’s 20-Year National Strategy and the 13th National Economic and Social Development Plan. The meeting also reaffirmed commitment to working towards a greener and more inclusive economic growth, stronger human capital for better social and inclusive development, as well as reducing inequalities.
The Tripatie Steering Committee, comprising the MFA, the NESDC, and the UNCT, is tasked with monitoring progress towards achieving targeted results under the UNSDCF and providing policy guidance and recommendations to accerate action to achieve sustainable development in Thailand.
