On 26 February 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, discussed with Ms. Kanni Wignaraja, UN Assistant Secretary-General, UNDP Assistant Administrator, and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific, during the latter’s visit to Thailand to attend the 12th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) from 25 to 28 February 2025.

Both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Thailand and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to advance inclusive and sustainable growth. Thailand expressed the intention to pursue tangible collaboration both domestically and regionally, including implementing policy-driven projects to showcase Thailand’s best practices in sustainable development in areas where the country has made significant progress, such as public health. Ms. Wignaraja and the UNDP Thailand Office expressed their readiness to support Thailand in key areas of cooperation prioritized by the Thai government.
