Press Release: Thailand’s donation for humanitarian assistance in Ukraine

On 21 June 2022, Mr. Jeerasak Pomsuwan, Chargé d'Affaires presented a donation of 500,000 baht from the Royal Thai government to Mr. Michal Mikolajczyk, Member of Management Board of the Polish Red Cross, to further acquire medical devices for Ukrainian refugees. The Embassy also invited 4 major Thai investors in Poland, namely Indorama Ventures Poland, Lucky Union Foods-Euro, Thai Union Poland, and CPF Poland to contribute to this donation. In total the private sector has donated both in kind and in cash approximately 900,000 baht.

Mr. Pomsuwan also informed Mr. Mikolajczyk that the Embassy has provided to the Polish Red Cross the list of 16 Thai students in Warsaw who wish to volunteer for the Polish Red Cross work during the summer vacation. In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand is in the process of collecting financial contribution from Thai communities abroad to help the displaced Ukrainians. Mr. Mikolajczyk expressed appreciation to the Royal Thai Government, private sector, and the Thai public for the continued and comprehensive support and cooperation.
