Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs delivers opening remarks at Thailand–Kazakhstan Business Forum in Almaty
On 26 June 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, delivered the opening remarks at Thailand–Kazakhstan Business Forum in Almaty, Kazakhstan. He reaffirmed the Thai Government’s strong commitment to supporting the private sector in expanding bilateral trade and investment. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized broad potential areas of cooperation including food security, logistics and people-to-people connectivity, as well as investment in industries where both countries have complementary strengths, such as tourism, energy, and critical minerals.
He also expressed Thailand’s hope to commence Thailand - EAEU FTA negotiations, with each country serving as a gateway to ASEAN and Central Asia respectively.
The event was attended by representatives from the Thai private sector across various industries, including processed food, real estate, digital technology, healthcare products, event organizer, and entertainment. The Forum serves as a platform for both sides to explore market opportunities, conduct business negotiations, and engage in business matching. More than 120 Kazakh companies participated in the event.
