On 8 July 2021 Ms. Sweeya Santipitaks, Consul-General, and a team from the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata visited The Rajbari Bawali, a 300 year old Boutique Heritage Hotel, to film a promotional and cooking demonstration video clips for the Thai Festival 2021 – Online Edition. They were warmly welcomed by Mr. Ajay Rawla, the owner who spent 7 years restoring the Greco – Roman style property into its present glory. Many villagers were engaged in the work and almost all the materials used at The Rajbari Bawali were recycled.
The grand backdrop of Kolkata’s charming heritage was a perfect starting point for the Thai Festival 2021 – Online Edition. Instead of being confided in a shopping mall or exhibition hall where festivals are normally organized, the Consulate can film and broadcast from many lovely locations and bring the mixture of Thai-Indian culture for the audience’s online viewing pleasures at home. Nevertheless, viewers can expect fun, facts, and prizes as always.
The Thai Festival 2021 – Online Edition will be broadcast during the first week of August 2021. Subscribe to the Consulate’s Facebook page @ThaiKolkata and YouTube channel “ThaiKolkata”, with #ThailandOnMyMind for future detailed programs and interactive sessions to win Thai Festival prizes.
