Thai Students joined the Final Round of National Quiz in Celebration of the 190th Anniversary of Thailand-U.S. Diplomatic Relations

On 6 November 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Embassy of the United States of America in Bangkok, AIESEC Thailand, and the American Studies Association in Thailand, organised the final round of the National Quiz Competition on Thai-U.S. relations on the occasion of the 190th anniversary of diplomatic relations of both countries at Naradhip Auditorium, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The competition has drawn nearly 1,000 high school contestants from all regions of Thailand. Twelve finalists from the five regions of Thailand joined in the final competition at the Ministry, all demonstrating impressive knowledge of history and matters related to the Thai-U.S. relations.

H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Robert F. Godec, U.S. Ambassador to Thailand, and Mr. Chettaphan Maksamphan, Director-General of the Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, delivered remarks admiring the students’ being well-versed on Thai-U.S. relations and emphasizing the importance of the people-to-people relations between the two countries. The Vice Minister highlighted the special ties and cooperation between Thailand and the U.S., which have grown in all spectrums for the mutual benefits, while the U.S. Ambassador Godec underscored the strong partnership between the two countries and the important role of the new generations in advancing this partnership well into the future.
