On 30 April 2026, Mr. Panidone Pachimsawat, Acting Director-General of the Department of Information, presided over the award presentation ceremony for the video clip competition to promote Thailand’s multi-cultural society through creative media. The Department of Information, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, initiated the said project, inviting Thai youth aged 15-22, both as individuals and teams, to submit video clips under the theme “Thailand as a Muslim-Friendly Destination”. The submissions were assessed on their creativity in reflecting Thailand’s multi-cultural society and highlighting the country’s potential in halal tourism, as well as business opportunities in the Thai halal industry.

The winners of the competition are as follows:

  • The first prize was awarded to Ms. Fahmee Sani, Ms. Puteri Man-aree, and Ms. Asma Hayeedaoh from Prince of Songkhla University, Hat Yai Campus, with a cash prize of 30,000 baht.

  • The first runner-up prize was awarded to Kittiya Narasantikun, Ms. Sirinya Yuleh, Mr. Ikrom Chedueramae, Mr. Amnan Samoh, and Mr. Alyas Wohma from Yala Rajabhat University, with a cash prize of 20,000 baht.

  • The second runner-up prize was awarded to Mr. Nifaldi Hayeesamsuding from Chiang Mai University, with a cash prize of 10,000

At a later stage, the first-prize winner will be featured in a video clip on the same topic, which will be produced by a renowned influencer, with the support of the Ministry, to further expand outreach to wider audiences globally.

This project reflects the Ministry’s commitment to fostering greater understanding of Thailand as a multi-cultural society that values peaceful co-existence among people of diverse cultures, religions and beliefs, encouraging the youth to share Thailand’s positive angles to the global community, and showcasing Thailand’s potential as a Muslim-Friendly Destination, as well as economic opportunities in the halal tourism and industry. These objectives are well in line with economic diplomacy, one of the key policy priorities that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is advancing.
