On Monday, 21 March 2022, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and H.E. Mrs. Suchitra Durai, Ambassador of India to Thailand, presided over the logo unveiling ceremony on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Thailand – India Diplomatic Relations, at Charoennakorn Hall, Icon Siam.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of India have jointly organised a logo design competition to promote awareness among the general public on the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and India. Out of 798 submissions, three logos were selected as winners based on their artistry and creativity that best reflect the linkage between Thailand and India. The winners are (1) Ms. Chanida Hengkhuntod from Thailand, (2) Mr. G. Shahidhar Reddy, from India and (3) Mr. Somchai Nilkaew from Thailand.

The first prize winner’s logo is inspired by “Pha Khao Ma” and “Sari”, two traditional fabrics in Thailand and India, intertwined to reflect the ties and the 75th anniversary between the two countries. The logo will be used throughout the year for commemorative activities to be organised in Thailand and India in various areas to promote political ties, trade and investment, as well as people to people exchanges.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations on 1 August 1947, Thai - Indian relations have been close and cordial, founded on long-standing cultural linkages between the peoples of the two countries.
