Thai Ambassador presented Thailand’s financial contribution to Fiji for its rehabilitation efforts on Tropical Cyclone Yasa

On 15 February 2021, on behalf of the Royal Thai Government of Thailand, H.E. Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Ambassador of Thailand called on H.E. Mr. Luke Daunivalu, High Commissioner of Fiji to Australia, to present a financial contribution of 10,000 USD to the Government of Fiji for its relief and rehabilitation efforts in the aftermath of Severe Tropical Cyclone Yasa. 

The Fijian High Commissioner thanked the Royal Thai Government and the Thai people for the kind gesture. On this occasion, the Thai Ambassador informed the High Commissioner of Thailand’s ongoing technical cooperation for the Pacific island countries including the online Annual International Training Courses (AITC) and the Thailand International Postgraduate Programs (TIPP) in Public Health, Food Security, Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) and Climate Change, which can contribute to the capacity building in the long term rehabilitation efforts in Fiji. 

In addition, the Ambassador and the High Commissioner exchanged views on the impacts of COVID-19 on Thailand and Fiji, as well as vaccine rollout plans including economic relief measures in our respective countries and regions.
