On 15 July 2026, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), had discussions with Dr. Narongchai Akrasanee, Chairman of the Mekong Institute (MI) Steering Committee. Also in attendance were members of the MI Council.

The event was aimed at providing an opportunity for participants to exchange views and further strengthen the longstanding partnership among the MI, Thailand, and New Zealand. Attending senior representatives underscored the shared commitment of the MI and its partners to advancing sustainable development cooperation and addressing common challenges in the Mekong subregion, including transboundary haze pollution, water resources management, and transnational crime.
