On 22 October 2025, H.E. Mrs. Chulamanee Chartsuwan, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, led the Thai delegation to the 5th Tbilisi Silk Road Forum held in Tbilisi, Georgia. The Forum was officially opened by H.E. Mr. Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia.

This fifth session of the Forum brought together participants from 70 countries, including H.E. Mr. Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, and H.E. Mr. Ali Asadov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who delivered remarks at the opening ceremony. The Forum reflected Georgia’s pivotal role in advancing the Middle Corridor initiative as an important economic and logistics route connecting Europe and Asia, as well as outlining developments in regional integration and infrastructure. It also provided a valuable platform for Thailand, the only country from Southeast Asia invited by the Prime Minister of Georgia to attend the Forum for the first time, to exchange views and explore cooperation opportunities in trade, investment, and infrastructure development. The event then provided opportunity for Thailand to enhance its economic engagement and market presence in Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus.

The Advisor held a meeting with Mr. Giorgi Pertaia, President of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with representatives from Georgia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development. Both sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and promote mutual investment in potential sectors such as infrastructure development, tourism, aviation, and renewable energy. They also agreed to encourage business exchanges between the private sectors of both countries to further expand trade and investment opportunities.
