On 31 January 2024, Mr. Wattanawit Gajaseni, Deputy Director-General, Acting Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), attended the opening ceremony of the Tak Border Health Learning Center and co-signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on the establishment of the Center with representatives from Ministry of Public Health, Praboromarajchanok Institute, Chulalongkorn University, Health Systems Research Institute, Borderland Health Foundation, and Suwannimit Foundation.

This signing of the MOA is aimed to promote cooperation between Tak province and Myawaddy on along-the-border public health in various dimensions, such as exchanges of experience and knowledge on public health and training program promotion to develop a network of border public health services through public health facilities, villages, and parallel cities along the Thai-Myanmar border. The cooperation will also improve the management of public health issues along the border and the living standards of the people in the area.
